In early October, Sellmark Ranch hosted the 2026 Pulsar ProStaff Retreat, a three-day weekend that brought nine Pulsar prostaffers and six members of the Sellmark team to the ranch in Teague, Texas. It combined range work, classroom time and two full nights in the stands, all on current-generation Pulsar thermal optics.
Day One: Arrive, Zero, Hunt
The group rolled into the ranch Friday afternoon, settled into lodging and headed straight to the range. The Sellmark team sighted in the ranch rifles while prostaffers confirmed zero on their own guns. After an early dinner, everyone was in the stands by 6:00 PM for the first night of thermal hunting.
Day Two: Learn, Build, Compete
Saturday morning moved indoors for two presentations, one on online communication and one on Pulsar’s 2026 new products. Then came the build-your-own-optic breakout, where teams designed and built optic concepts out of clay and pitched them to the group.
After lunch the group went back to the 100-yard range for open range time and a timed accuracy competition. Hits counted first, and ties were broken on time, which decided both second and third place.
Competition Results
1st: Mitchell Graf · 2nd: David Hartzler · 3rd: Tucker Shroyer
Saturday night it was back to the stands for round two.
Two Nights Behind Thermal
Both nights ran from 6:00 to 11:00 PM, with three of Pulsar’s newest product lines in use from the stands. Over the two nights the group took 17 animals: 12 hogs, two coyotes, two raccoons and a bobcat. Real field conditions gave the prostaffers extended hands-on time with current gear and plenty of firsthand feedback to bring back to the Pulsar team.

Wrapping Up
Sunday morning closed with breakfast, a thank-you to the group and the announcement of the competition winners before everyone headed home. The weekend ran on schedule all three days with no safety incidents.
It’s exactly the kind of weekend the ranch is built for: lodging, meals, a private range and thousands of acres of hunting in one place, so a team can spend its time on the people and the gear instead of the logistics.
